I just tested the video with thumbnails view by changing it to the default in our Control Hub and then joining on a Chromebook and a laptop using the browser. All 3 computers displayed the video with thumbnails view. Attendees using the browser on a windows laptop can change their view back to grid view or active speaker video view. Attendees on a chromebook are not able to change their view.

@Kimberly.Logie-Bates , the default video layout can be configured by the administrator of your Webex site:

The web app currently doesn't support grid view. You can vote for the idea on our User Community Portal:

We found that Webex gridview doesn't work on the web version of meetings on a chromebook, only the webex app found in the google play store. Also Gridview is the default in the app.
