Webex Notification Sounds Not Working

I'm running a mac on big sur with the webex teams app. I have notification sounds turned on for all messages. Output sounds configured to go to whatever device is selected (I've tried laptop speakers, two different pairs of bluetooth headphones), verified notifications are enabled in Mac System Preferences but no matter what I do, notification sounds will not play. I am missing messages because I rely on the sound to know something has come in to me.

I've uninstalled webex teams and reinstalled, shut down my computer, restart my computer, made sure all apps are up to date. I get notification sounds from other apps, just not webex.

 

Any help would be appreciated.

All having the same issue can try downloading Webex v41.5 from the webex website. It did solve the issue for me!

All having the same issue can try downloading Webex v41.5 from the webex website. It did solve the issue for me!

This is the 3rd thread where I see people complaining about the same problem.

I was just able to fix mine by going to Settings->Audio->Ringers and Alerts.

Set the Ringers and Alerts drop down menu to whatever your audio output is instead of "All Devices". In my case it was "Speakers / Headphones (Realtek Audio)"

Unfortunately I tried all the settings in Audio->Ringer/Alerts

I have: All Devices / Use system setting / Macbook speakers

And neither of them works.

 

What's more annoying is that meeting reminders and calls do work! The only thing not working is notification sound for new messages.

I've already checked my System preferences and made sure Notifications were enable for Webex.

I also checked the Settings->Notifications page (in Webex) and "All messages" is selected.

I even tried changing the "Message notification sound" but had no luck.

I am sorry that it is still not working for you. ☹
I forgot to mention that I also went to the top bar of the webex screen and clicked on Connect to a Device-->Click here to fix a problem-->Enable Detailed Paired Logging.
