Level 1

Hello,

I wonder if there is a different method to upgrade a AP1141 to Light Weight mode than the one for a/b/g APs?

I was following normal process but Upgrade Tool sent a message saying "AP IP ADDRESS not supported by upgrade tool"

Any comments?

Regards!

the datasheet tels us tha tthe minimum software required is 7.0

The data sheet is incorrect.  I've used 1140 in 6.X because it's the same "level" where OfficeExtend works.

Hi Rguzman,

The TOOL is not supported for 1141 APs since the comes with the inbuilt certificates that is (manufacture installed certs) in all newer APs, in older APs the TOOL will generate the Certs on the AP.

Here is the first method..

Method 1

========

Download TFTPd32 server on your laptop and install it (its a free ware available in Google)

here is the steps..

1>> Download the tftpd32.exe and run it and install it.

2>> Download the latest image for 1141 AP from Cisco.com

3>> Point the image in the TFTP server by browsing..

4>> Make sure the hidden folder options is unchedked in folder options..

5>>  Now connect a Console cable and the ethernet port from the AP to your  laptop.. assign the ip on you laptop and the BVI in the same subnet..

6>> make sure we are able to ping each other (from the PC to AP and from AP to PC)..

7>> Now issue the command

archive download-sw /force-reload /overwrite tftp:///

ex

archive download-sw /force-reload /overwrite tftp://192.168.1.1/c1140-rcvk9w8-tar.124-21a.JA2.tar

This will do it for you!!

Lemme know if this answered your question..
