2600 optimized for BYOD?

Hi,

Spec says that 2600 series access-points are BYOD optimized. We are using 1600 for BYOD. I dont see any issue in the BYOD network. Anyone knows what additional features that 2600 got in BYOD support.

thanks,

Ramesh

Any model of APs can support BYOD.  APs don't understand BYOD.  It's the backend, such as RADIUS/TACACs, web authentication, etc.  These are the ones that support BYOD or not.  APs play a part of or are a link to BYOD.  This is why it's mentioned in the Data Sheet.

Hi,

Both of model support BYOD
the only difference is that Aironet 2600 Series access point is packed with more Bring Your Own Device (BYOD)-enhancing functionality
The new Cisco Aironet 2600 Series sustains reliable connections at higher speeds farther from the access point than competing solutions resulting in more availability of 450-Mbps data rates.
Optimized for consumer devices, the Aironet 2600 Series accelerates client connections and consumes less mobile device battery power than competing solutions.

Both the AP's support BYOD. The only enhancement in 2600 is that

It has features as-

  1. Any Device/BYOD Optimized
  2. Client Scalability
  3. RF Interference Mitigation
