Hi all,

as per technote, if we want to configure LAG, 2820i is compatible with few cisco models only (3850/3650) etc.

Why is that so, isnt LAG = LACP?

Hi @illusion_rox

Kinda is. Let's say it is a subset of real Link Aggregation as it does not allow you to select mode.

If the only issue is mode, it should still be compatible with 2960x series ? or any other 3rd party switch supporting LACP?

If you setup the switch to mode on, this should work.

My confusion is, 2960x and 3650/3850 supports LACP. What does 3650/3850 supports in term of LAG that 2960x doesnt ?

Hi,

LAG with 3rd party switches has not been tested. AP uses same IP address but different source port to do the balancing, so the switch should be able to do load balancing based on UDP port information. For more information on LAG with 3rd party switch please refer to bug CSCvf77787

Its not 3rd party problem. Cisco’s own 2960x series are not supporting LAG
