3800 AP capwap to mobility express issue

Hi,

I am trying to convert capwap AP to Mobility express.

capwap ap ip 192.168.XXX.X 255.255.xxx.0 192.168.X.X

ap-type mobility-express tftp://tftp-server/AIR-AP3800-K9-ME-8-5-135-0.tar

tftp server is started and could not see any status of copying file from tftp server to AP.
I am able to ping from both sides, tftp server and AP successfully.

is anything missing ?

I tried to do AP tftp_init but no luck.

Starting the ME image download...
It may take a few minutes to finish download.
If it is longer, please abort command, check network connection and try again

it stuck here from long time........

Discovery Request sent to 255.255.255.255 with discovery type set to CAPWAP_DISCOVERY_TYPE_UNKNOWN(0)

any input appreciated

I would check what image AP got ? If you have a WLC, I would first register it to WLC & upgraded its image to a different version first & then try ME conversion.

I will try connecting to WLC 1st and then try to convert as suggested.

Is the AP even downloading the file? In some TFTP clients, one can see a kind of "progress bar".

nothing happens on TFTP server ( no progress of transfer data). I use solarwinds tftp server.

no progress on AP console CLI.

its not timing out also, it just says it may take long time after that no update.
