You needs to access the CMIC, go to FAN Control Policies and change "Maximum" to "Performance" .

1: Log into CIMC

2: On the Server Tab click Power Policies

3: Change Fan Policies under the Configured Fan Policy Section to "Performance"

4: Click Save Changes

5: Server Will automatically Reboot and thats it.

I have seen this on a few versions of code, and when i upgraded it went away.  If the CIMC option doesn't fix it, you could look at a version upgrade.

Pls check what speed those fans are running ?

I am running 8.5.140.0 on our 5520 & see below values. If you see higer RPM rates in yours, then upgrade to 8.5.151.0.

FAN1_TACH1 | 0Fh | ok | 29.1 | 4800 RPM
FAN1_TACH2 | 10h | ok | 29.1 | 5700 RPM
FAN2_TACH1 | 11h | ok | 29.2 | 4800 RPM
FAN2_TACH2 | 12h | ok | 29.2 | 5500 RPM
FAN3_TACH1 | 13h | ok | 29.3 | 4800 RPM
FAN3_TACH2 | 14h | ok | 29.3 | 5700 RPM
FAN4_TACH1 | 15h | ok | 29.4 | 4800 RPM
FAN4_TACH2 | 16h | ok | 29.4 | 5800 RPM
FAN5_TACH1 | 17h | ok | 29.5 | 4800 RPM
FAN5_TACH2 | 18h | ok | 29.5 | 5700 RPM

Re: 5520HA making high Noise from Fan

Could be normal, based on the temperature reading. Please note that the fans are temperature controlled. So if your server room is fairly warm, then they run quicker.
I also have seen different behavior with different WLC code releases.
Please also note the CIMC upgrade for the 5520, which you probably are missing: http://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/wireless/controller/release/notes/crn85mr5.html#cimc-upgrade
That upgrades all the firmwares for the server and might also change some temperature points.
