Acces point to controller association.

I have a controller with code 8.3.133. Currently have 388 AP associations, if i reboot the controller about 60-70 will associate with another controller is knows about from previous association. I theory how long after the controller comes back online should it take 388 AP to re-associate?

We have a setup with +400 APs and we have done a few code upgrades on the WLC over the past year. Usually the association with the WLC is very fast, these are estimates but generally I have seen:

2 min after reboot - ~80%

5 Min after reboot - ~95%

10 min after reboot -100%

We have never waited longer than 10 minutes for 100% of APs to associate to the controller.

Depends on the settings of the Failover Priority for each AP.
Just factor in 10 minutes for the APs to start failing back to the primary.

Like Leo mentioned, its about 10 minutes as long as you have everything configured properly including the high availability on the AP itself.
