I have a WLC 5508 version 8.5.135 my access point is 3802i.

The access points are connected to a 9300 switch with POE +.

I have 4 access points connected but my access points constantly restart physically change color (red, green)

and from the WLC in the cli the ap looks like not join

The errors shown by the WLC are:

% CAPWAP-3-MAX_RETRANSMISSIONS_REACHED: capwap_ac_sm.c: 7623 Max retransmissions reached on AP (78: bc: 1a: a7: b0: e0), message (CAPWAP_CONFIGURATION_UPDATE_REQUEST
), number of pending messages (2)

AP Disassociated. Base Radio MAC:78:bc:1a:a7:b5:40 ApName - site

%DTLS-3-HANDSHAKE_FAILURE: openssl_dtls.c:3224 Failed to complete DTLS handshake with peer 10.129.110.220

Hi,
check below points.
1. check time and date in controller
2. check connectivity between Controller and AP is clear
Please rate this and mark as solution/answer, if this resolved your issue

Hi,
At this moment it is 11:35 am (Mexico City) my WCL and APs have 8:40 the date is correct but the time is not.
Do I have to correct the correct time?
What is the effect that I may have when having a different schedule?

Regards

It is highly recommended that NTP is configured on the controller.

First of, upgrade the firmware of the controller.
8.5.135.0 is not really a "stable" version.
