Access Points mounts on open concept concrete ceiling

Hi!

We are moving into an open concept space with multiple levels and no drop ceiling on each floor, just concrete between the floors. Should we mount access points directly on the concrete or should we have some type of mount to suspend them lower than the ceiling? I've read that concrete degrades the signal. Also, is it recommended to use the internal antenna vs external ones in an environment such as that? Please advise! Thanks!

I've read that concrete degrades the signal.

If wireless goes from one floor to another, then yes.  Concrete degrades WiFi signals.  But if you've got your clients in the same floor ... not really.

This also depends on what kind of concrete floor.  Pre-fabricated concrete structures are very, very dense therefore they tend to "chew" wireless signals more than standard concrete poured.

Please advise! Thanks!

What is the distance between the floor and the ceiling ?
