We are trying to figure out a future migration path from 802.11b to 802.11whatever. We currently have a few Aironet 350 802.11b Access Points, and now that we're moving to the 1200 model what is the best strategy for integrating these new devices, and what standards we should be moving towards (802.11a or 802.11g).

You have 802.11g upgrade kit which can be used .

Our purchasing dept ordered an 1200/a. Can this be firmware upgraded to g, or can it support a, b & g with the upgrade slot and 2.4ghz antennaes?

Since you have the 350's already in place, I would suggest going towards the 802.11G radio for the 1200's. With the G radios, you can mix both G and B clients, which means you don't have to do a fork lift operation and get rid of all of the old equipment at one time. You can slowly implement the new G model radios one at a time and replace the 350's. A model radios ONLY work with A model clients.
