hi,

Is this AP running autonomous software or is it controller based. If controller based, you can clear all config from the controller. If autonomous, hold down mode button while powering up AP. When LED is red, release mode button.

Thanks

John

Resetting to Default Settings Using the MODE Button

Follow these steps to reset the access point to factory default settings using the access point MODE button:

Step 1 Disconnect power (the power jack for external power or the Ethernet cable for in-line power) from the access point.

Step 2 Press and hold the MODE button while you reconnect power to the access point.

Step 3 Hold the MODE button until the Status LED turns amber (approximately 1 to 2 seconds), and release the button. All access point settings return to factory defaults.

Resetting to Default Settings Using the GUI

Follow these steps to return to the default settings using the access point GUI:

Step 1 Open your Internet browser. The web-browser interface is fully compatible with Microsoft Internet Explorer Version 6.0 on Windows 98, 2000 and XP platforms, and with Netscape Version 7.0 on Windows 98, 2000, XP, and Solaris platforms.

Step 2 Enter the wireless device IP address in the browser address line and press Enter. An Enter Network Password window appears.

Step 3 Enter your username in the User Name field. The default username is Cisco.

Step 4 Enter the wireless device password in the Password field and press Enter. The default password is Cisco. The Summary Status page appears.

Step 5 Click System Software and the System Software screen appears.

Step 6 Click System Configuration and the System Configuration screen appears.

Step 7 Click the Reset to Defaults button to reset all settings, including the IP address, to factory defaults. To reset all settings except the IP address to defaults, click the Reset to Defaults (Except IP) button.

Hi,
I carried out the manual reset tests, now I have a flashing green LED, I do an nmap to find the IP address of the device, I find it but no port is open on that IP address (I should log into http, correct?) .
Thank you.

If you have console cable (Blue)then try from it.

Ok, i've got it! But, i cannot load web interface.

Seems that i've not "configure terminal" available at console.

Is my AP a Standalone AP?

This is my consolle boot log:

k9w8 is lightweight

k9w7 is standalone

Your ap is lightweight and are using a recovery image! Do you want it to be lightweight or standalone?

Hi.
Thank you for your reply.
For enabling web http to control router.
What version I need?
Thanks.

If you want to use the web interface on the access point you need to convert it to standalone, to do that you will need the ap1g2-k9w7-tar.153-3.JF15.tar file (https://software.cisco.com/download/home/284366503/type/284180979/release/15.3.3-JF15), to download that you will need a service contract. So, the question is, do you want to use it as standalone or as a controller based access point?

Ok, i want to use it in standalone mode... How can i get a service contract?

Do you want a service contract for just one ap?

Hi,
I don't know what contract means.
First... I need to know if this access point may be controlled, for example, by a standard radius server or captive portal like pfsense builtin.
At least, I need to know if this service can be purchased without contract.
My customer has 10 access point to manage, not only one.
Thanks.

It cannot be controlled by a radius server or captive portal, that is just the type of security the wlan uses. You need to have a controller to controll the ap, ex, 2504 or Mobility express.

Are all the access points 1600:s? Or are there atleast one .11ac ap? If so, you can use mobility express, it is free!
