Hi all,

I just bought four 3800 AP. But they support only 2,4GHz. The speed of clients only 144Mbps.I checked AP and antena, all support both 2,4GHz and 5GHz

How to enable 5GHz ?

3800 model: AIR-AP3802E-S-K9

Four antennas: AIR-ANT2524DW-R

The only time 2.4 Ghz is disabled automatically is when FRA (flexible radio assignment) is enabled.

 - I think Leo actually means 5Ghz

You're right, M.
I misread the thread.
Well, the only time I see 5.0 Ghz disabled is when there is a Regulatory Domain conflict.

Hi @Leo Laohoo and @marce1000 ,

FRA is disabled as below, but only band 2,4GHz. Please advise. Thanks

@Leo Laohoo

Should I enable 802.11g for 5GHz using ?

(Cisco Controller) >config 802.11b 11gSupport enable

Changing the 11gSupport will cause all the APs to reboot when you enable 802.11b network.
Are you sure you want to continue? (y/n)

Or : enable 802.11ac, I just noticed that 3700s use 802.11ac for 5GHz connection.

(Cisco Controller) >config 802.11a 11acSupport enable

Unable to modify while 802.11a network is operational.

Post the complete output to the follwoing commands:

sh advanced 802.11a txpower
sh advanced 802.11a channel

Are the SSID configured for 2.4 Ghz only or all radios?

Whao, are you even allowed to use UNII-2E in VN?

Hi @Leo Laohoo ,

Only VNSGNB09AP is 3800 which 5GHz doesn't work. Others are 3700s which work good for 5GHz.

I am new to AP, and actually don't know about UNII-2E, googling now.

According to the output provided, the AP VNSGNB09AP is operating on Channel 36 and a radio power of 16 dBm.

No 5GHz clients for AP 3800

So what actually is the problem?  No 5.0 Ghz clients or no 5.0 Ghz radio?

@Leo Laohoo

3800 is serving only 2,4GHz with speed 144Mbps and no 5GHz clients

Ok, let's do a test:
1. Disable 2.4 Ghz across the network.
2. Disable 5.0 Ghz across the network.
3. Enable 5.0 Ghz on VNSGNB09AP ONLY.
