Dear All,
I am getting logs in the WLC (WiSM-1 running 7.0.235.0) as "AP Disassociated. Base Radio MAC:<radio mac>". Several of the APs have the same issue.
I telnet into one of the APs and collected the event logs and found below message,
"*** Access point reloading. Reason: Recvd RESET req from Controller ***". Before this message, I could see the Dot11Radio1 resetting continuously.
Attaching the event log file.
This is causing problems for the clients. Any suggestions/ideas would be of great help.
regards,
Girish

HI Girish,
Upgrade the software to 15.2(4)JB3 and see if we are able to reproduce the issue. i am pretty sure that this will resolve the issue!!
Check this doc:
http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/wireless/access_point/ios/release/notes/15.2_2_JB.pdf
Cisco IOS Release 15.2(2)JB does not support the following Cisco Aironet access points:
• AP 1130
• AP 1240
• AP 1250
• AP 1310
Change the IOS and then try again.

Hi Sandeep,
We are running wism-1 with 7.0.235.0 image. APs are controlled by the Wism. If I change the recovery image in the 1250 ap, will it associate itself with the WLC? Please note that the wism-1 cannot be upgraded beyond 7.0.240.0.
Please advice.
regards,
girish

HI Girish,
Yes it will.
1250 AP supports 7.0.235.0 / 7.0.240.0.
If you face any troubles while joing AP to WLC, u can feel free to ask.

Hi Sandeep,
We will have to plan WLC upgrade to newer code. Will post the results once it is done.

Have you had to replace any of these 1252's? I have seen in the last few years these have been problematic with failing. One thing is that once you download the event log, make sure you delete and event logs and crash files on flash. I would also keep track of what AP's this is happening to and see if it's an issue with the same AP's or not. As long as nothing has changed in the environment, I would start tracking AP's with issues and maybe replace those.

The recovery image is only used when there is no other lightweight images on the AP. It will not just use that image unless you delete all other image file or you set the AP to boot from that image. It really doesn't matter what version of RCV image you use since the AP will download the image bundle from the WiSM.
You might be safe also to open a TAC case to see if they have any additional info.
