Re: AP supporting 4402 WLC

Hi Vishal,

Access poin 3600 supported only on 7.2 code versoin.

7.2 code versoin is not supported on 4402 controller. so unfortunately you can not get the 3600 AP working with 4402 controller.

3600 data sheet:

Software     Cisco Unified Wireless Network Software Release 7.2 or later

Reference: http://www.cisco.com/en/US/prod/collateral/wireless/ps5678/ps11983/data_sheet_c78-686782.html

7.2 releaste notes:

Controller Platforms Not Supported for 7.2.103.0

The following controller platforms are not supported for the 7.2.103.0 release:

•Cisco 4400 Series Wireless LAN Controller

•Cisco 2100 Series Wireless LAN Controller

•Cisco Catalyst 3750G Integrated Wireless LAN Controller

•Cisco Catalyst 6500 Series/7600 Series Wireless Services Module (WiSM)

•Cisco Wireless LAN Controller Module

•Cisco Wireless Controller on Cisco Services-Ready Engine (SRE) (WLCM2) running on ISM 300, SM 700, SM 710, SM 900, and SM 910

3500 and you need to be running the latest 7.0.X code.

Re: AP supporting 4402 WLC

Just to add... If your planning to purchase these due to the CleanAir feature, you will not be able to enable CleanAir in a mixed environment with non CleanAir access points. But other than that, the 3500's do perform good.

Re: AP supporting 4402 WLC

If you need CleanAir to be supported you need 3500. This one can be supported on your WLC.

If you don't care about CleanAir to be supported then you can take 1260 AP in consideration. I think it will be cheaper comparing to 3500 series.

Data sheet for 3500 AP:http://www.cisco.com/en/US/prod/collateral/wireless/ps5678/ps10981/data_sheet_c78-594630.html

Data Sheet for 1260 AP: http://www.cisco.com/en/US/prod/collateral/wireless/ps5678/ps10980/data_sheet_c78-593663.html

1260 AP is almost the same as 3500 features but without cleanAir support.
