Ap With static ip Address reboot and the AP change de IP Address

Hello All!

 

We have a lot of AP with STATIC IP but when any AP rebooting for power of or another matter, the IP Address of the AP change and we have to change it. 

 

Anyone know what happen?

The default process when an AP can’t join/find a controller. The static is used first, then dhcp is used. The reason being is in case the vlan has changed, the AP can still discover the controller. Static address was used way back when and then doing Mac reservations is what folks use if they need an AP to ip definition.
