AP wont reconnect to mesh with 2.4GHz backhaul after reboot

We can set 2.4GHz backhaul on a mesh, and it will work, but if a MAP reboots it wont reconnect.

Only way we have found to reconnect the MAP is to switch back to 5GHz backhaul. Then, after the AP reconnects, we can switch back to 2.4GHz .

It's like the MAP is loosing the configuration information about the backhaul.

Anyone have any ideas? We are running 8.2.100.0 on our WLC.

Thanks,

Phil

Update - we opened a TAC on this and it was determined to be a bug. Bug report should be coming out this week:

https://tools.cisco.com/bugsearch/bug/CSCva80688

We also found the problem only occurs when the gig port is active. Apparently, the MAP is erroneously considering the gig port to be a viable path back to the WLC even when it is not. So it is  outweighing the 2.4ghz backhaul.

So two work arounds - switch the backhaul to 5ghz or unplug the MAPs gig interface. Wait for the MAP to reconnect. Switch the backhaul back to 2.4ghz or reconnect  the  gig port.

Thanks

Phil
