Your AP has an autonomous code: C1140-K9W7-M and that is why it's not joining. You need to download a lightweight image and convert the AP to lightweight.

Understanding AP image:

https://supportforums.cisco.com/document/77131/understanding-access-point-os-images

Conversion:

https://www.google.com/amp/s/mrncciew.com/2012/10/20/lightweight-to-autonomous-conversion/amp/

Hope that helps.... Leo should of caught that as he has links to all the conversation processes:)

Post the complete output to the following commands:

  1. WLC:  sh sysinfo;
  2. WLC:  sh time;
  3. AP:  sh version; and
  4. AP:  sh ip interface brief

Interesting stuff is AP2 time is way way way off.

I was about to say that there is no NTP configured on the WLC and this could be a possibility that the controller has the wrong time and date.

Kindly configure NTP on the controller and reboot the AP.

Question can I make WLC 2504 as NTP server.

Nevermind I think I answered my own question I will have to setup NTP master on the router.

I will have to setup NTP master on the router.

Correct.  Point the WLC to the router for NTP synch.

I have setup the WLC and AP to NTP server but the AP will not join to WLC....Any ideas.

No need to update the boot loader of the AP.

Thank you Scott, I didn't even notice, I had autonomous code until you pointed it out, you are a genius.

Loaded the latest code 1140-rcvk9w8-tar.152-2.JB and AP Join the WLC

I fixed the time to match with WLC
