APs not joining after Upgrade Cisco 2504 WLC from 8.2.170.0 to 8.5.140.0

Hello everyone,

we want to Upgrade our Cisco WLC 2504 from 8.2.170.0 to 8.5.140.0. But after we reload the WLC the APs dont want to join the Controller anymore. In the WLC AP Join statistics are Only

"Received Discovery request and sent response"

But the rest of the Statistics are empty.

The Error Summary also.

We use 2702i APs.

Can everyone help here?

Can you console/login to an AP to see what the debug says? If so, please attach here.
On the CLI please issue a "show ap join stats summary all" and then a "show ap join stats detail <mac>" for one of the APs not joining as that has more detailed information.

Check your licenses are applied under Management->Software Activation->Licenses
Check NTP is synched or WLC has the correct time set
Check your country code is correct under Wireless->Country

The 2702 AP’s are supported in that version, so you will need to look at the AP console output.

Let me guess:  ALL the APs don't join the controller.  Is this correct? 

If this is true, then post the complete output to the command "sh time".  I suspect NTP is not configured (correctly) on the WLC.

Console into one of the AP and reboot. Post the entire boot-up process.
Post the WLC command of "sh sysinfo".
