Backup Port

hi all.,

   i have one issue regarding the backup port i already have a cisco 3504 and i configured the manegement VLAN to use port number one and i made the backup port as port number 2 in physical information

port number 1

backup port 2

active port 1

enable daynamicAP management enable

however when i disconnect the cable connected to port 1 the second one became enabled like expected, i can ping it by i couldn't mange the device from the web management IP however i could do this before from the port one when it was up .

It should work, I usually go back and https:// and remove the rest as at times my browser hangs. Many prefer to just use LAG and have an etherchannel which works the best. Using primary and backup is usually a work around if a switch doesn’t support etherchannel or you are swinging one port to the dmz for example.
