Can I convert a AIR-LAP1041N-E-K9 as standalone ?

Hi,

I have a brand new AIR-LAP1041N-X-K9 Access Point I want to use as standalone device (without WLC controller).

Is it possible to convert it to become a AIR-AP1041N-x-K9 standalone Access point ?

Here is the show version output :

Can I convert a AIR-LAP1041N-E-K9 as standalone ?

Hi,

Thanks a lot for your suggestion and interesting link. I tried it but it seems that this procedure works with 1100 and 1200 Series of Access Points, that can run in both modes, but I have a 1040 Serie and it does not semm to be supported. Actually, the access point keep looping in DHCP requests and never falls in the default IP address process...

Do you think that the LAP-1041N does not support the autonomous mode ?

Thanks a lot for your help

You need to convert the AP first. That ap that you have requires a WLC. So of you want to use it as a stand alone ap you need I convert it to autonomous and then configure the ap.

Hi all,

I answer now to my own question :-) I found an excellent link that complement the link from Nikhil :

I managed to change my LAP-1041N in a standalone Access point !

Thanks you for your support and guidance
