Cisco 1572 Traffic passing through Ethernet ports

Hi Cisco Community,

My name is Luca and I am working on an outdoor wireless / IoT project. For this project, we are using Cisco 1572 EAC, Cisco IXM and Cisco vWLC.

Here is the scenario.

Each IXM will be plugged in the 1572 and each MAP will be forming a point to point link to the RAP. The RAP is powered via a power injector via the Poe-in port and the IXM is powered via the Poe-out of the 1572.

The RAP is plugged (via the power injector) into a trunk port on the switch. The RAP is registered with the vWLC.

Problem

I cannot seem to get traffic from the Poe-out (IXM) to the poe-in (RAP) then the switch. It looks like the ethernet ports do not allow traffic through the RAP ethernet ports.

Any idea? Is this feature supported?

I'm not realy sure, but my guess is you misunderstand the mechanism of mesh-networking.

what you want is a wireless bridge (or workgroup bridge) to create a remote-lan connection where the IXM is connected?

I don't think the mesh-ap acts as a wgb, it is intended to extend the wireless network, not wired.

-> correction I see in this presentation mesh+wgb is possible
