Cisco 1830 ME WLC Loss of connectivity after initial configuration

HI,

I am trying to configure a Cisco 1830 AP as an ME WLC.

I am able to initially provision the AP using the provisioning SSID and apply the initial settings.  However, when I reset the AP and try to connect using the configured management IP I have no ip connectivity.

The management interface on the ME is untagged as per Cisco documentation.

The connected switchport is configured as a trunk trunking the native vlan.

This has happened on two separate APs so I'm confident that it is not an AP hardware/software issue.

Wondering if anyone else has come across this issue when configuring an ME WLC AP.

I am running Cisco ME version 8.8

Thanks

Scott

Hello,

Indeed after you reboot the ME the management interface is untagged.

What configuration you have on the ME what on the switch? can you see L2 traffic?

Is a DHCP server active on the native vlan for the AP/WLC to get an IP address?

If AP1830 ME using Management Static IP.

?

1. do I still need dhcp server
2. if I don't have internal dhcp server. Could I use AP1830 act as DHCP server

3. If I have internal DHCP server. what ip subnet should I assign on that if AP1830 ME Management ip is 192.168.1.x

tq

UPDATE1: SOLVED
need to configure ME DHCP Server

It is the recommended deployment to have a central DHCP server which provides IP addresses to the AP and the clients.
ME does have an internal DHCP server:
