Cisco 3850 supported latest access points

Hi All,

We are proposing WS-3850-24T-L to our client with WLC features. As per cisco datasheet, supported access points 3600, 2600, 1100 series, But these AP's are end of sale. Present, which latest AP's are supporting? please suggest

As per latest IOS fuji 16.9.x, there is no information regarding supported AP's.

Thanks in advance.

Bad move.  No one is using the 3650/3850 as a WLC anymore.  Jerome Henry has openly admitted in 2017 that the 3650/3850/Sup8 was a "failure".

And there won't be.  Converged Wireless Access (CA) is not supported after 16.3.X.

It is also stated in every Release Notes (including 16.9.X) that:

Converged Access (CA) is not supported beyond Cisco IOS XE Denali 16.3.x.

If this is new requirement, rather 3850 look at the models of Cat 9300 (similar to 3850)

here is the matrix that support for 3850

before buying 3850 contact local SE or Partner who can help you with latest models for longer run and investment protection.

Do not use converged access anywhere if you can help it. We have a couple of large customers who invested heavily in it a few years ago. It has been nothing but trouble.

There is a reason Cisco are no longer pushing it and seem to be trying to sweep it under the carpet!

Converged Access 2.0 using the Catalyst 9K and, maybe, 17.1.1-Amsterdam.

Interesting, every Cisco conference I have been to seem pretty keen to say the new stuff is not converged access?

The embedded 9300 stuff is SD-Access only? Or is this something different you know of?
