Cisco 8821 Wireless IP Phone powers down when connected to external charger.

I have a Cisco 8821 Wireless IP Phone that powers down when connected to external charger.  I can even set it in the charger with the power cord disconnected.  In this situation it will remain powered up but once I connect the power to the charger it powers down.  Has anyone experienced this issue?

Try a different battery.

Thank you for the suggestion. I did try another battery but that did not resolve the issue. I also tried the battery of the phone with the issue and it worked fine in another phone...
