Cisco Air-Cap2602i-A-k9 error loop and no exec access

We had an AP a while back just stop working and started giving this constant loop of CAPWAP errors. We tried to do a factory reset by unplugging, holding the MODE button, and reconnecting power while holding the button until the light turned. This did change the name of the AP to it's mac address but that is about all it did.

We still are getting this constant loop of CAPWAP errors and any commands we put in to change the CAPWAP config come back with the "command disabled" message. What is going on with this AP and what can we do about it?

The following is all of the AP info and the error messages we are receiving:

   AP Info:

Cisco IOS Software C3600 (AP3G2-K9W8-M) Version 12.4(25e)JA Release Software (fc1)

     Cisco AIR-CAP3602I-A-K9

     PowerPC Processor (rev A0)

     LWAPP image Version 7.2.103.0

     Config Register is 0xF

   Errors:

Any help would be greatly appreciated. We are a small company and really need every bit of hardware we have to work for us.

Thanks in advance!

Console into the AP and post the complete output to the command "sh inventory".

Here is the complete output for sh inventory:

NAME: "AP3600", DESCR: "Cisco Aironet 3600 Series (IEEE 802.11n) Access Point"
PID: AIR-CAP3602I-A-K9 , VID: V01, SN: FTX1631GML4

Ok, that's not what I was suspecting.
Console into the AP and reboot. Post the entire boot-up process (in a text file and attach to the reply).

Here is the startup

 - Also at time of problematic join(s) issue the command show logging on the controller, check if you get any additional useful info's

Here is the complete startup and the show logging command. Sorry about the show logging command, it has some of the errors from the original ticket that just pop up every 10 seconds or so. I can't seem to turn logging off either.

Sorry couldn't figure out how to attach two files. Here's the show logging command

 - That's from the AP but I also mean from the controller ; note at time-frames of problematic join of an AP only (otherwise the log is probably irrelevant)

Here is from the Controller side pulled from our syslog server

Here I also used the show logging command on WLAN controller:

*Jul 27 15:19:21.827: FW coredump command failed 0/41E5EE4.
*Jul 27 15:19:21.827: No coredump info received from firmware
*Jul 27 15:19:21.843: mvl_radio_coredump: Last reset code: 37; hostmem ptr 0EEAF49C
*Jul 27 15:19:21.847: Writing radio coredump to 'flash:/r0.rcore', flags 1
*Jul 27 15:19:21.859: Interface Dot11Radio1: not starting because stop-on-failure set

The firmware for the 2.4 Ghz radio is corrupt and this is why the AP is on a boot loop.

The RCV folder is also not preset.

Do the following:

1.  Go HERE & download the file "ap3g2-rcvk9w8-tar.153-3.JK1.tar".

2.  Force the AP into ROMMON.

3.  Format the flash of the AP using the command "format flash:"

4.  Upload the firmware, "ap3g2-rcvk9w8-tar.153-3.JK1.tar", via ROMMON using the following steps:

load_helper
flash_init
set IP_ADDR <TFTP_IP_ADDRESS>
set DEFAULT_ROUTER <DEFAULT_ROUTE>
set NETMASK <SUBNET_MASK>
tftp_init
tar -xtract tftp://<TFTP_IP_ADDRESS>/ap3g2-rcvk9w8-tar.153-3.JK1.tar flash:

After this is done, reboot the AP.

Hope this helps.

I will try right now. I will update the thread as soon i finish. Thanks everyone for the help thus far!

Okay sorry i was off work for a few days. I got the image put on the AP (I did have to use the ether_init command), but now when booting it says that "Radio FW image download failed ...

Could this be that the image was the wrong one or does this sound like something else.

Post the entire boot-up process.
