Hi all.
I have acquired a used AIR-SAP1602I-A-K9 that came with a existing configuration and a secret password.
I have tried to search the web for a guide on howto reset the password / reset factory default so i can clear config and
set a new password. I find a bunch for routers by changing the registry but nothing for AP specific, but i wonder if the procedure is the same?
Anyways i tried to boot the device and break its boot sequence, ctrl + break (didnt work), ctrl + c (didnt work). But i have not gotten far in my
endevour to get control of the device.
Anyone who can share a word of wisdom with me, will be meet with appreciation.
Thanks on advance.

If you hold the mode button too long it will bring you into ROMMON mode which you are in. You can issue these commands:

Will these commands delete stored config and bring back factory defaults?

If you search on Google for 'Cisco autonomous password recovery' there are links that will help including this one:
https://supportforums.cisco.com/document/12125851/password-recovery-autonomous-ap
There are also links on factory defaults that can help. If that is a used AP, factory default it and start from scratch to ensure that the config is right for you.

Thanks for your solution, but it seems not to work for my device.

So when you try enable mode, you use Cisco and that doesn't work?

One end of a console cable is connected to the your laptop's, say, COM1 port ,and the other end of that console cable is connected to the the Access Point's RJ-45/Console port.
Assuming, that the IP Address of your laptop is 192.168.28.2, we use the command below:
ap(config)# copy flash:configBackup.txt tftp://192.168.28.2/configBackup.txt
Now, you have the backup of the existing configuration of your Access Point in C:\ of your laptop.
Open, say, Notepad, and open C:\configBackup.txt, and where you see the text as "username", replace it with the following text , as per your wish:
' Username <your username> privilege 15 password 0 <your password> '
