Cisco Prime Floor View Wrong AP Heatmaps

Hello Cisco WLAN experts,

I have attached a file with floor plans that show the 802.11b/g/n heat maps of a customer installation

in a high-rise building.

All WLAN APs are of same model AIR-LAP1142N-E-K9.

To my surprise Prime Infrastructure 1.3 (1.3.0.20) is showing different size of colors for APs with same sending power.

There are no obstacles on the floors.

How can I improve this graphical representation ?

What could be the reason for this ?

Thank You in advance for any good hint

Wini

A couple of things are the floors scaled to proper dimensions and all matching as having the same dimensions? Are you 100% sure all of the access points are presently at the same transmit power level and that RRM hasn't turned some of them down? When the floors were created were they created with the same RF Model.

The only other option to get a more true view would be to do a calibration of each floor.

See this document for information on RF Calibration Models
