Does 1142 AP support 802.11ac ?

I just upgraded my WLC (2504)  to the latest release 7.5.102.0.

The "whats new" section on release notes talk about the 802.11 ac radio module and it mainly says about 3600AP supported

we have 1142 APs only.

but on the WLC GUI 'Monitor' pages shows all APs(1142) are UP for802.11a/n/ac Radios.

So what it really means? after the upgrade 1142AP support 802.11 ac module? can any device with 802.11 ac able to connect ?

or it is only the 3600APs can support 802.11 ac ?

Hi Prasath,

Thease are the APs which can support 7.5.102.0 version:

1522, 1524PS, 1524SB, 1552E, 1552H, 1552I, 1552C, 1552EU, 1552CU, 1552S, 1130, 1240, 1250, 1260, 1600, 2600, 3500e, 3500i, 3500p, 3600e, 3600i, 3600p, 1140, 600 OEAP, 700, AP801, AP802.

802.11ac  will be supported on the Aironet 3600 Access Point. The 3600 AP  designed to be modular which means customers can add an additional radio  such as 802.11ac to the access point. Currently, the 3600 is the only  access point that will support the new 802.11ac standard.

Hope it helps.

And also the brand new 3700 series.

The 1142 series does not support 802.11ac.

Thanks Sandeep.

So 1142 is not in the list of your supported APs for release 7.5.102.0...

but I already upgraded and looks everything working fine. Do I have to downgrade?

1142's are supported on v7.5.  There is no reason to downgrade unless you need to.
