Good afternoon all,
We've noticed a problem with a latest shipment of Cisco AP's. They've come preloaded with code version 8.2.x. However our standard is still 8.0.120 with plans to go to 8.0.135 to support the revision -B domain AP's. However the AP's we have been receiving will not downgrade to 8.0.120. We have a lab controller that is loaded with 8.0.135 and attached the AP's their first to get them to the initial downgrade. However when we move it to the production controller it will not downgrade to 8.0.120. It gets stuck in a download state and never comes out of it.
Has anyone seen this before? For us its very coming with latest batch of AP's and the 8.0.120 code.

Not all APs are supported in 8.0.X.X. For example, the new 2802 & 3802 are supported in WLC firmware version 8.2.111.X (and later). Read THIS. This table should contain a detailed list of APs and the minimum required controller version.

Hi Shawn,
Like Leo mentioned have you checked that all your AP's are compatible with this version of code?
In case they are supported I would suggest trying to pre-download the code to the AP's and check if it works. In case all AP's of the same type do not download the code I would suggest re-downloading the code to the WLC as sometimes the AP image bundle does not get installed correctly.

Please check the compatibility matrix, to check from which version the access points supports. latest model APs like 18xx, 28xx, 38xx supports from 8.2, so they can't be downgrade :http://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/wireless/compatibility/matrix/compatibility-matrix.html#56735
