Foreign-Anchor Controller :- on WLAN, user IP request is stuck in DHCP_request or not getting IP address

2 WLAN has been configured foreign controller, on 1st WLAN user getting proper IP addresses from anchor controller & but on 2nd WLAN user not getting IP address or stuck in DHCP request.

Both WLAN having same configuration, DHCP required (under advanced tab) disabled on the foreign, but enabled on the anchor

Have you done anchoring configuration under WLAN (step 6 in the below guide)

till having an issue on 2nd WLAN

Map the broken ssid to the working ssid vlan and test. If that works, then you vlan is not configured properly or not spanned.

@Scott Fella - On anchor controller, both WLAN's are working fine. On foreign controller, out of one WLAN is working fine without any issue. only another SSID facing this IP related issue.

I’m a bit confused. Are you anchoring both ssid to the anchor?

1st SSID - USER-GUEST (For this WLAN - user getting proper IP address through Anchor-Controller)

2nd SSID - USER-MOBILE (For this WLAN - user getting not getting IP address through Anchor-Controller or either stuck in DHCP_Request)

Okay, so what you need to try is map the wlan that is not working on the anchor controller to the other vlan. So both SSID’s on the anchor maps to the same vlan. If dhcp work, then you know your vlan is the issue.

@Scott Fella - same interface has been mapped to both WLAN but same issue.. On foreigner controller, mapped to management interface.

Okay, did you anchor the wlan on the foreign controller to the anchor? Also make sure that the wlan in the anchor is configured to map to itself. Since you already tried to define the interface and that didn’t work, the next step is to make sure the anchoring definition is correct. Each wlan has a separate anchor definition.

Yes, that was already mapped under both WLAN.

If your 2504 and 3504 is setup identical as far as wlan and vlan and the trunk port on the switch is also setup identical, then I don’t know what this issue can be. You are better off opening a TAC case so they can review you configuration which makes it easier to troubleshoot.

Issue has been fixed after enabling DHCP required (under advanced tab) enabling on the foreign Controller.

now user able to getting proper IP address.
