HA between WLC 2504 and 5508.

Hope you all are well....

I have one 2504 and other is 5508. both devices has same IOS version. If 2504 gets down it is possible to use 5508 WLC as backup.

Does all access point will again download the image from 5508 to integrate with it?

You can not make HA between 2 different models - that is not permitted.

Other option you can split the load in to different WLC, it has pros and cons,

best is get same model so you have full HA.

Yes you are right... But what my intention for asking is that if i use 5508 wlc in replace of 2504-No SSO or N+1- does all access point will easily integrate with 5508?

With N+1 and enough licenses on the 5508, yes this is possible. Just make sure to have the exactly same configuration (just different ip addresses) on both and that mobility group is working correctly. 

Regarding software, ideally you have the same on both WLC, that way the APs can just switch to the other WLC with just a very short interruption. Make sure to have both WLC configured with hostname and IP address in the High Availability tab on each AP.
