Help with selecting a controller

Is the wireless controller that goes into a 6509 chassis mostly the same as the 4400 series appliance ? Or is one platform more limited than the other ? How about the software and the user interface -- is it the same on each platform too ? Finally, if you could get either one, which would you choose and why ?

The WiSM basically has two 4404's build in, but instead of supporting 100 ap's the WLC in each WiSM supports 150 ap's. How you want to design you netwrok will depend if you go with a WiSM or appliance. Also cost will determine what you go with. So look at the amount of ap's you require and what you need to support the number of ap's and also for redundancy.

2106 supports 6 ap's

4402-12 supports 12 ap's

4402-25 supports 25 ap's

4402-50 supports 50 ap's

4404 supports 100 ap's

WiSM supports 300 ap's
