how can i configure air-ap1852i( like a access point)

Hello All,

i have a cisco air-ap 1852i -E-K9 and i cant go to web interface , and in console interface i stack in (cisco controller) >

some one help me pls

Have you looked at the configuration guide at all? Depending on what image your ap is on and if it was previously configured or not, you might have to configure the ap from the CLI before you can get access to the UI. When you have console connection, reboot the ap and look to see what image the ap has, this can tell you what you will have to do next to configure the ap. yes i have read all configuration guides but i can't understand the probleme , for infomation i have 8.10.122.0 image , normaly this cisco ap 1852i show a SSID Ciscoairprovision but i cant find that, am gonna join a picture explain when i stack

Sometimes that doesn't really work, the Ciscoairprovisioning SSID. I have only been able to see them on brand new AP's, but when an ap is converted, it seems like that doesn't show up. You would have to configure the AP using the CLI until you get http/https access to the AP. Don't waste time trying to get the provisioning SSID if you have already tried factory resetting the ap and you still don't see it.

Configure the management interface properly on it and then configure the switchport as well.

How to configure mgmt interface:

config interface address management <ip-addr> <ip-netmask> <gateway>

config interface quarantine vlan management 0

Switchport where AP is connected: (Example)

interface GigabitEthernet1/0/37
description » Connected to AP «
switchport trunk native vlan 122
switchport trunk allowed vlan 10,20,122
switchport mode trunk

i cant put this commands in CLI( console), whene i turn on my cisco 1852i go directly to conlroller config ( Cisco controller > ). for infomation i dont have a controller , so i need just to turn my cisco 1852i to a normal Access point can i do this ?

It will only work as Mobility express AP/WLC.

There are a lot of videos and blogs out in the internet for Mobility Express. Just review a few different ones and that should help you get started. Mobility Express to me, isn’t easy to get working and that is why Cisco moved away from Mobility Express on the newer access points. Take some time and look at the guides, videos and blogs because there are multiple ways to get ME working.

check the swicthport config where AP is connected.

It must be configured in this way:

interface GigabitEthernet1/0/1
description **Master ME AP**
switchport trunk native vlan 10
switchport trunk allowed vlan 10,20,30
switchport mode trunk
