Hello everyone!
I would like to start setting up a Cisco Wireless Lan Controller 5508 with some Cisco 1262n AP's. Would anybody help me in how to start setting this to take advantage of having this wireless lan controller please? I have a DHCP server, a Cisco 6509, and Cisco 3750g that connects the access points. I have Vlan 50 for wireless access points.
Thanks to everyone!

Jesus,
Here is a good doc to get you started. This will explain what you need to Simon the switch side also.

Get the initial stuff done and then let us know what areas you have issues on. At least this docuemnt will give you an idea of what yo can do as far as vlans, etc.
Thanks,
Scott

Hi Jesus,
1.WLC side:
i would first check the WLC software is later than 7.0 for your 1262 AP's
then follow the initial config.
2.DHCP side
configure option 43 or any discovery mechanism that you want

3.Switch ports for the AP's
Access port on the VLAN you want them to join.
then if you need anything after the basic setup. post it and i will be glad to help.

Thanks a lot Jaber!
Let me say that our Cisco devices (switches and AP's) IP addresses are statically assigned (not using the DHCP).
How could I implement the option 43 or can I do something manually? What would you recommend me?
Thanks

It's fine if you use static address if you want, but you also need to know the registration process that the access point goes through in order to find the WLC. One option is option 43. So initially you can use the following options in this link, but the easiest way is to initially place the APs in the same subnet as the WLC and then you can move it after it downloads the code and rejoins the WLC.
