Hi,

How to do I check on a WLC how many AP licences are available?

And if more are needed where can they be purchased from?

Thanks

 - You will 'at least' need to buy licenses from CISCO and or through your reseller.

Depends on the model of the controller. If it's a 2504/5508, it's a PAK based license where in you'll have a base license of a specific AP count and the subsequent licenses that you want to add will be adder licenses. In case the WLC is a 3504/5520/8540/8510 it'll be an RTU license where in you can just add the required number of licenses up to the number of APs the WLC supports by accepting an end user agreement. The latter is a trust based license.

Navigate to Management>Software Activation>Licenses to check licenses OR use the cli command, "show license summary"/"show license in-use"

Cheers!
