Long 1815 AP boot time in Mobility Express mode

Want to use the 1815 in Mobility Express mode for a corner case - to use in roaming site surveys. When the AP is moved form one location to another in the building it is powered down and then powered back up when it arrives at the new location where the next survey is conducted. The problem is that the boot time is anywhere from 6-8 minutes. Is there anyway to shorten this boot time?

One option I have used is to power the AP via a battery, then you dont have to disconnect from switch when you move and it stays powered on.

Something like this one (but there a range of others available):

I have also used a hacked together method using a lithium power bank and a DC powered POE injector:

As Haydn wrote, don't power it down. Otherwise there sadly isn't much you can do to shorten the boot time. I suggest you configure fixed IP addresses, that might shorten it a little bit.

Or a bit easier, get a nice 1000VA UPS for your measurement wagon, that should supply for 60-120 minutes power, depending on how much your other components need. You would simply power it on when you take it out of your car and once you are in the customers office it should already be running :)
