Can one access point associate with 2 seperate wlc's.

For example, can AP-a be associated with corporate network WLC for access to corporate network and a dedicated guest WLC for only guest access.

Customer wants a seperate wlc deicated for guest access. Is this a possible ? If yes then is it not better to have only wlc that can provide guest and corporate access simultaneously

Hi @adeebtaqui ,

Single AP can't associate with Multiple controllers at a time. For your requirement you have use the mobility anchor concept.

Please refer this Cisco Unified Wireless Network Guest Access Services for the same.

You can with Anchor Controller.

You can have any old 55XX  controllers add them as Anchor, deployed many sites like this rather using new hardware. like WLC 85XX or new Cat 98XX

Can you please elaborate more about this? Is there any document that I can refer to for understanding?

As per your experience and knowledge, which is better, to have a separate dedicated wlc for guest or to just use one wireless controller for corporate and guest.

Can you please share about how to add to cisco wlc , sms notification for  Guest access with login credentials

It all depends in Environment, what you have backend, you have ISE for the self registration portal

some people use Local authentication with Prime for pre-defined user created and supplied on demand basis to use with expiry date.

If you looking to send SMS, that means self provisioning

If you have ISE in place, here is the good place to start
