Using different controller models as primary/secondary

Hi.

Is it possible to use for example 3504 as primary and 5508 as secondary controller? Will the APs fail over to 5508 in case the 3504 is not responding?

Are the licensing models compatible?

Any advice is greatly appreciated.

AP/Client SSO will work becaus eboth are diff hardware and can not be connected by Redndent Port. Means License and  config will not be synchronized.

other solution:

Yes you can use them them as HA N+1 Model means once the primary WLC will be down all AP will move to secondary WLC.

You need:

requirement for HA N+1:

1. Both WLC must ahve same SW version

2. Both WLC must have enough AP license (AP License sync will not happen)

Make sure both controllers are running the same firmware.
