What IP Value to Enter for Lightweight AP to Connect to vWLC

Hi,

I am setting up a wireless lab with 5 Cisco Air-Cap3502I-L-K9's and Cisco Virtual Wireless Lan Controller.

I've reset the AP (at least I'm pretty sure I have) and I seem to have issues getting the AP's to connect to the VWLC.

This message is displayed every 30 seconds or so.

Not in Bound state.
*Mar 1 00:20:18.082: %CAPWAP-3-DHCP_RENEW: Could not discover WLC. Either IP address is not assigned or assigned IP is wrong. Renewing DHCP IP.
*Mar 1 00:20:21.105: %DHCP-6-ADDRESS_ASSIGN: Interface BVI1 assigned DHCP address 192.168.5.115, mask 255.255.255.0, hostname AP7081.05b0.f082

Translating "CISCO-CAPWAP-CONTROLLER"...domain server (192.168.5.2)

Also, here's the vWLC IP info:

Management : Port 1; Vlan ID 100; IP Address: 10.0.0.2; Type: Static; AP Mgr: yes;

Service Port: Port: N/A; Vlan ID: N/A; IP Address: 192.168.5.113; DHCP: No; AP Mgr: No

So I'm confused, im trying to get the ap to connect to the service port @ 192.168.5.113 and it doesn't seem to be able to connect. Does it need to connect to 10.0.0.2? If so, do I need to change any settings on my network? The network operates on the 192.168.5... range so does something need to change?

Also, why is it "translating cisco-capwap-controller" / what does that mean? Is it trying to look up the ip of that hostname?

I haven't done any other configuration to the AP, i just reset it, and as far as I can tell, the AP should just automatically connect to teh vwlc, or so I am told.

Lots of questions here,

Cheers and thanks for your help!

EDIT: Just remembered, the AP is flashing green & red as well, although I'm not sure what that means, and i've given it plenty of power over POE (I think; its set to get up to 15400mWatts)

DHCP Option 43

Where is that configured? On the AP or on DHCP server?

After creating a DHCP server via win server 2019, and adding rule 43, I now get these messages:

Translating "CISCO-CAPWAP-CONTROLLER.axtmann.ca"...domain server (1.1.1.1)

*Mar 1 01:51:40.935: %CAPWAP-5-DHCP_OPTION_43: Controller address 192.168.5.113 obtained through DHCP
Not in Bound state.
*Mar 1 01:52:27.450: %CAPWAP-3-DHCP_RENEW: Could not discover WLC. Either IP address is not assigned or assigned IP is wrong. Renewing DHCP IP.
*Mar 1 01:52:30.470: %DHCP-6-ADDRESS_ASSIGN: Interface BVI1 assigned DHCP address 192.168.5.10, mask 255.255.255.0, hostname AP7081.05b0.f082

Translating "CISCO-CAPWAP-CONTROLLER.axtmann.ca"...domain server (1.1

As far as I can tell, it seems that the AP can find the controller, but It does not seem to want to connect for some reason? Any Idea why?

check the time on controller !

also paste the output of these commands:

sh sysinfo from WLC

sh version from AP

and complete bootup process from AP console.
