WIRELESS ISSUE

hi Mate's,

we are facing an issue of wireless..

we have 4 different sites.and contorller is in HQ.

we have controller 5508 series existing...and we purchsed new 1852 series wireless access points...these access points are not supporting flex connect....as it is not provided by cisco(i refered cisco data sheet)..

Therefore we thought to use local mode ,by installing virtual controller in P.C on each site..Therefore individual sites will access individual access points.
but came accross one more surprise, that these 1852 series access points does not even support virtual controllers.

can you please advice what should be done in this situation.

Hi Jawad,

Yes vWLC only support flex-connect APs and as we know 1850 don't support flex-connect mode.

Here is the proof: http://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/wireless/controller/release/notes/crn81mr3.html#51900

Better to buy a small WLC like 2504 for each site.

Buy two WLC for each site:

Primary:AIR-CT2504-5-K9 --> with 5 AP license in it

Secondary: AIR-CT2504-HA-K9* --> HA model with 0 AP license.

I have many site with same scenario, as i dont like flexconnect mode.

Regards

Sandeep
