Hi,
I have a WLC 5508 with about 60 APs. I want to get a list of all BSSIDs with related AP and Interface.
I know cli command "show ap wlan 802.11a <apname>". But if I have a BSSID (from client or WiFi scanner) how can I get the associated AccessPoint ?
Is it possible with:
- cli command
- Cisco Prime Infrastructure
- MSE
- other?
Thanks for your help.

The BSSID is derived from the Base Radio MAC(the MAC you pulled from the WLC) and is a variation created from the WLAN ID and the Radio interface used. This should get your what you're looking for.

Hello David,
thanks for your reply.
I already read this article. But anyway I cannot get a complete list of all my BSSIDs at once.
My problem is: I have a BSSID from a WiFi-Scanner and want to know which AP does provide this.
With "show ap wlan 802.11a <apname>" I have to know the AP already.
Maybe there is a way in Prime Infrastructure ?

What we do is pull all the AP radio mac and don't look at the last two octets. Then we reference that with the AP name so it's easy to know what AP. You can look at PI if you want and see if a report has that info but there is nothing quick.

in case someone needs to to this on the 9800 use:
show ap wlan summary
This command provides all BSSIDs with the SSID and AP name.
