WLC 5508 Connectivity

Guys,

I have a question regarding LAG ports.

From Rajan's post here https://supportforums.cisco.com/document/81681/lag-link-aggregation he mentioned the following:

  • When you enable LAG, all ports participate in LAG by default. Therefore, you must configure LAG for all of the connected ports in the neighbor switch.
  • You cannot configure the controller’s ports into separate LAG groups. Only one LAG group is supported per controller. Therefore, you can connect a controller in LAG mode to only one neighbor device.

I have the following questions:

1) I want to have an OOB port in access and a lag port connected to stack switch in such a way that one port will be connected to master switch and the other to the secondary switch.

2) The OOB port will be access and the lag trunk.

3) Considering Service Port to be configured in same vlan as OOB port just incase.

Is this configuration viable?

For the 5508, the Service Port is meant for Out of Bound Management (OoBM).

Can I conduct SNMP monitoring using the SP port?
