WLC9800-L-F Data Ports

Dears,

I am about installing WLC 9800-L-F port-channel to 9500 switch but i read in the deployment guide that 10G/1G uplink not support port-channel as below

Data port behavior:
• The 10G/Multigigabit copper port (or 10G/1G fiber port) will be disabled if link aggregation (LAG) is
enabled – only 4x 2.5G/1G ports can be used for link aggregation.

https://www.cisco.com/c/dam/en/us/products/collateral/wireless/9800-series-wireless-controllers/guide-c07-742458.pdf

My question, is it true that i won't be able to do LAG on the 10G Fiber, and if i want to do that must use the other ports 4x 2.5G/1G ports

Thanks and BR;

Okay look at the configuration guide. You have 4 mGIG ports that can lag as long as they are negotiated the same speed. You also have two 10g ports that you can use, but you can’t mix the mGIG with the 10g.

The lower end 9800 controllers only support mGig, not 10g. If you wanted 10gig support, then you need to move up to the 9800-40/80.

I'm in the same boat. I don't seem to see any mention of that on the guide you sent. Is this still the case?

Keep this in mind also per the data sheet:

Maximum throughput

5 Gbps, 10 Gbps **(with performance license)
