In some cases, there may be an abnormality in one of the part files of these COS APs, which makes it impossible to convert to Mobility Express. At this time, you will encounter the following error.

Check the version of the AP. It can be observed that there is no image file in the backup part of the AP. At this time, it is recommended to fill the backup of the AP with a lightweight AP image.

When this happens, we will use the ap-type mobility-express command to complete the ME mode conversion.

LAP#ap-type mobility-express tftp://192.168.1.2/AIR-AP1815-K9-ME-8-5-182-0.tar

After the AP image is acquired, it can be started as the ME system.

This method can try to solve the situation where LAP cannot be directly upgraded to ME mode (such as the error mentioned at the beginning of the document).

I have not seen a standardized path for replacing AP mirrors separately, but if the switching span between versions is too large, you can try to upgrade one or two intermediate versions first to see if it works.
