Hey Guys,

I Have several 1600 Series AP's (AIR-CAP1602I-ZK9) that was working with WLC before, I changed them with 1800 series but would like to use 1600 Access Points series independently and without WLC for somewhere else,  so I want to know do they work without the Wireless LAN Controller? or I have to have the controller for them to work? they will be in different locations so i cant have a controller per each location and if yes how can I convert them to Mobility Express or a Mood that I can use them as a simple Access point.

Thanks,

If the 1600 is loaded with Autonomous IOS then the AP can/will work without the need for a WLC.
NOTE:  1600 do not support Mobility Express.

Hi Leo,
Thanks for your help, I loaded with Autonomous IOS all is ok but when I login on web gui and try save or apply anything I get error 404 not found!
is it because of software version issue? I'm using : ap1g2-k9w7-tar.153-3.JF12i

Ok, so the AP is loaded with Autonomous IOS.
What happens if you try to save the config using CLI?
