WLC9800-40 with SFP-10G-LR-S SFPs

Hello,

We're running WLC 9800-40 with version 16.12.2t with SFP-10G-LR-S. I have some questions regarding SFP-10G-LR-S:

1. Is this model supported by Cisco? If not Which model do you recommend for WLC9800-40?

2. Would SFP-10G-LR-S cause issues with upgrading of WLC 9800-40 to newer IOS version, such as 16.12.3 and 16.17.xx?

Hello, 

You can find SFPs supported on the following link. 

The model you mention in this post is not listed so, it is not recommended for the 9800-40 WLC 

would that cause priblems with upgrade - it is hard to tell, but I can tell you if it is something we do not support you can expect any type of behavior.

I had the same question to our contact from Cisco. They told me that the SFP-10G-LR-S are supported but not listed in the SFP List.

But i askt for the 9800-80 Controller not the 9800-40. But i think thats the same.

I have a Pair 9800-80 in HA with the SFP-10G-LR-S running with Software 16.12.3
