Cannot connect to the Access Point due to mismatch in SSID
The SSID is a unique identifier that wireless networking devices use to establish and maintain wireless connectivity. Multiple access points on a network or sub-network can use the same SSIDs. To establish a Wireless connection between the Wireless client and the Access Point the SSID configured on the Access point must match with the SSID configured on the Wireless clients.
If the Wireless client cannot connect to the AP, check if the SSID configured is the same on both the AP and client. SSIDs are case sensitive and should not contain any spaces.
Creating an SSID
Beginning in privileged EXEC mode, follow these steps to create an SSID:
Enter global configuration mode.
interface dot11radio 0
Enter interface configuration mode for the radio interface.
Create an SSID and enter SSID configuration mode for the new SSID. The SSID can consist of up to 32 alphanumeric characters. SSIDs are case sensitive.
Note You can include spaces in an SSID, but be careful not to add spaces to an SSID accidentally, especially at the end of an SSID.
