On WLC code 7.0.98.0 or 7.0.116.0, you will notice a degraded tracking for RFID tags. In most of the cases there will be missing "hearing access points" for the RFID tags causing non-accurate location.
This problem is caused by bug CSCtr20250.
Symptom:
Location tracking is not working as expected due to WLC code 7.0.116.0 not taking into consideration all hearing access points for a particular tag. The error message that appears on WLC "debug rfid error enable" is:
<tag mac address> rfid Aerosct updated by AP <mac address> has invalid rssi -128
Workaround:
Dowgrade wlc code to 6.0.202.0
Fix:
This bug is going to be fixed in upcoming 7.0 release and onwards. You can also open a TAC Service request and request a special code based on 7.0 in the meantime.
