The physical and virtual appliances that NCS and Prime Infrastructure run in can be monitored via SNMP. To configure the SNMP agent on the appliance, use the "snmp-server" configuration commands in at the global configuration level in the command line interface, as shown below.

As an alternative to using SNMP to monitor Prime Infrastructure, consider using Prime Infrastructure's REST API to monitor the uptime of the application.
